Simon Weiss, M.D., F.A.C.O.G.
Simon Weiss was born in Peru where he completed high school. He obtained his medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City. Dr. Weiss trained at Yale University in Connecticut in the primary care medicine and at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston in Obstetrics and Gynecology. He held the post of Chief resident in obstetrics and gynecology in 1994-5. He was selected as one of the privileged few to train in a fellowship in Laparoscopic surgery, at a time when laparoscopy was still not widely used in medicine. Over the years, Dr. Weiss continues to practice cutting edge medicine, applying the latest medical protocols and technological advances.
Dr. Weiss benefited from training with some of the most renowned specialists in the world, including Denton A. Cooley M.D. in cardiovascular surgery, L. Russell Malinak M.D. in endometriosis, James M. Wheeler M.D. in laparoscopic surgery, Alan Kaplan M.D. in gynecologic oncology and Raymond H. Kauffman M.D. in diseases of the vulva and vagina.
Dr. Weiss practices medicine by combining medical knowledge with common sense. Compassion and understanding for patients are an integral part of his character. During his years of practice in Florida, patients have benefited from his practice philosophy and have rewarded Dr. Weiss by referring family, friends and coworkers to his care.
Dr. Weiss’s medical practice comprehends both routine and high risk obstetrics; as well as the full spectrum of gynecology. Over the years, he has become known as the specialist in endometriosis and chronic pelvic pain.
Helen Spalding, M.D., F.A.C.O.G.
Dr. Spalding began her medical career as a registered physical therapist. After a decade of practicing in England, Australia and the United States, she put herself through medical school at the University of Oklahoma, obtaining her MD degree in 1991. Dr. Spalding completed her residency at Hartford Hospital in Hartford, Connecticut in 1995 and became board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1997. For ten years, Dr. Spalding practiced general OB/GYN in Connecticut including creating a successful solo practice. She moved to Florida in 2005 to pursue a lifestyle change that afforded her more time to spend with family and friends.
Dr. Spalding enjoys practicing the full range of contemporary obstetrics and gynecology including high risk OB, minimally invasive gynecologic surgery and all manner of office gynecology and menopause management. Apart from her clinical skills, her strengths include her compassionate approach, humor and communication skills as well as genuinely enjoying her patients. She resides in Plantation with her family and devotes her spare time to numerous other interests. She particularly enjoys wilderness activities such as hiking, alpine skiing and sailing.
Asya Fish, M.D.
Dr. Fish was born in Tallinn, Estonia and raised in Brooklyn, NY. She is a third generation physician, following in the footsteps of both of her grandparents who were both obstetricians and her mother who is a pediatrician. She completed her obgyn residency at Monmouth medical center in Long Branch, New Jersey and relocated to Miami with her family.
Dr. Fish is passionate about her work and her patients. Her mission is to be accessible to her patients while providing compassionate and high quality care. She hopes to establish long-lasting relationships with her patients and serve the community for many years to come.
When she is not working she spends her time with her family, traveling and enjoying the outdoors.
Jerome L. Sturm, M.D.
Dr. Sturm graduated from the State University of New York Upstate Medical University in 1983. Dr. Sturm’s internship was completed at Albany Medical Center Hospital in 1984 focusing on Obstetrics and Gynecology and completed his residency at Albany Medical Center Hospital in 1987. He has worked in Clermont, FL and 3 other locations specializing in Gynecology and Obstetrics & Gynecology.
